In L. Frank Baum's Oz books, the Queen of Ev was the lovely wife of King Evoldo and aunt of Princess Langwidere. She is tall and slender, and beautifully robed. Her husband sold her and their ten children to the Nome King in exchange for a long life. They were transformed into pieces of bric-a-brac to decorate his palace, but were eventually rescued by a group from the Land of Oz. When they returned home to Evna, the Queen's oldest son Evardo was crowned king. The Royal Family of Ev later visited the Emerald City of Oz to attend Princess Ozma's birthday party.
